( open ebook)Créé en septembre 1999, l’OeB (open ebook) est un format basé sur le langage XML (extensible markup language) pour normaliser le contenu, la structure et la présentation des livres numériques. Le format OeB est défini par l’OeBPS (open ebook publication structure). Développé par l’Open eBook Forum (OeBF, remplacé en avril 2005 par l’IDPF – International Digital Publishing Forum)) et téléchargeable gratuitement, l’OeB est un format ouvert appartenant au domaine public. Le format original est toutefois utilisé uniquement par les professionnels de la publication. Il doit être associé à une technologie normalisée de gestion des droits numériques, et donc à un système de DRM (digital rights management), qui permet de contrôler l’accès des livres numériques sous droits. La dernière version de l’OeBPS date de décembre 2006. -
